Fava Bean also known as the broad bean, is species of the pea family.  Broad beans are generally eaten while still young and tender.  In some cuisines, the beans' outer skin is removed through blanching. In most other parts of the world, the beans' skin is not removed.  The beans can be fried, causing the skin to split open, and then salted and/or spiced to produce a savory, crunchy snack. They can also be short sprouted (2-3 days) and/or planted as a microgreen

(approx 10 days).
